On Saturday, July 23 we invited local designers to meet us at Union Hall for two power hours of design. We worked together to cover the city in great design through Snapchat's Geofilters. This event was sponsored by dooley media, providing free coffee and custom emoji notebooks.

On Wednesday, July 29, we joined the Twitter chat scene by starting our very own Twitter chat! We invited designers all throughout the AIGA network and beyond to chat about design, after dark, on the interwebs, and it was awesome. A few of our board members went a analog and got together in person to host the chat at Goodfellas OTR.

Women control nearly 80% of consumer spending, yet only 3% of creative directors of female. At AIGA Cincinnati, we decided it was time to talk about why. Why aren’t women reaching top leadership positions in our field? Where are they getting stuck and what can we do to help? This past weekend we started that discussion.

Last week, AIGA members had the privilege of hearing from D’Wayne Edwards, former footwear design director of Jordan at Nike Inc. Edwards spoke at our AIGA “Speaks” event on Thursday, May 14th and offered a workshop that was open to professionals and students on Friday afternoon.
