The Art Academy of Cincinnati AIGA chapter prepares student members for careers in the visual communication field. We want to take our experiences beyond the classroom, learn, share and develop meaningful connections with students and professionals.

The Art Academy of Cincinnati is an independent college of art and design founded in 1869. The school’s AIGA chapter launched nearly 140 years later, in the fall of 2008! The student group is open to all AAC students but primarily consists of visual communication design and illustration majors. Our campus is located in Over-the-Rhine, a historic area of downtown Cincinnati.

University of Cincinnati – DAAP College Student Group

The UC AIGA student group is comprised of ambitious young designers who are focused on promoting design awareness and excellence. The group aims to participate in programs and activities sponsored by the AIGA Cincinnati chapter such as mentoring, as well as host their own social events and lectures from prominent designers at the University of Cincinnati.

University of Cincinnati – Blue Ash College Student Group

The University of Cincinnati – Blue Ash College Student chapter is dedicated to bringing students in design related fields together. We strive to create a strong social network for future design professionals. The connections that are formed here will help students as they progress through their academic careers and will continue into the professional realm. The Blue Ash College chapter of AIGA provides a great opportunity for students to meet with real professionals with real careers in a variety of fields. In addition, the chapter is completely student run, giving students the chance to learn and develop the networking skills that are so important to their professional future.

University of Dayton Student Group

University of Dayton - Fusion

Fusion is the University of Dayton student group affiliated with the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA). While graphic and communication design is the focus of the group, students from all areas of the Department of Visual Arts are invited to join. In addition to building community between different grade levels in the department, throughout the year many organizations on campus come to Fusion seeking help with graphic design.

Other activities available to students through Fusion are: workshops, critiques, speakers, freelance design, social events, and art competitions.

Miami University Student Group

The mission of the Miami University chapter of the AIGA is to educate young designers beyond the classroom. Engagement in hands on activity, interaction with practicing professionals, involvement in contests and non-curricular design work, as well as portfolio reviews, lectures, and discussions are all key parts of our organization. Our students are active members in their design community and seek to improve their talents and learn from one another.

AIGA’s Ohio University’s student chapter strives to create an creative environment where design is cultivated through discussion, exploration and creating. AIGA’s Ohio University’s student chapter aims to become better designers through relationship building within our rural community but also within the professional design community. We are always working to gain experience and understanding of the design community outside of the classroom.

The Sinclair AIGA Student Group mission is to expand the knowledge and experiences in the area of design to prepare students for careers in the visual communications field. We want to take our members beyond the classroom to interact with local community and professionals in the field of design. Our students will get an opportunity to host events, participate in service learning projects, and attend AIGA events. The student group is run by our student officers and its members, allowing them to learn and develop their communications, leadership and networking skills that is so vital in the industry. All visual communications design majors are welcomed!
