EMERGE is a series of experiences tailored to help emerging designers (those with 0-5 years of experience) hone their skills, discover their talents, and grow their careers. EMERGE is a new initiative of programming co-created by the national AIGA organization + AIGA Minnesota. AIGA Cincinnati is excited to be participating in this initiative by hosting a mini-conference created specifically for emerging designers by emerging designers. This half-day event will include an engaging panel discussion, a salary workshop, and a three-part keynote presentation. The day also includes time for networking, free professional head shots, unlimited coffee, and breakfast + snacks. The goal of EMERGE is to help you flourish as a designer—in the areas of employment, growth, leadership, entrepreneurship, and life skills.

Salary and overall compensation can feel like such a taboo subject within the design community, but we're here to challenge that through an interactive workshop. We'll look at real numbers, so you know what to expect for salary ranges, along with insight into the various options companies have for compensating their employees, what a full benefits package means for your overall compensation, and tips for handling reviews and raises. TCG will also provide helpful tools and resources for your job search and future salary negotiations.
Keynote: "Career Paths: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly"
We've lined up a triple threat for this three-part keynote. Get the inside scoop into some of the most popular career paths from designers who are killing it in their respective roles. Gain perspective on the pros and cons of going Freelance, Agency, or In-House. Our speakers will share their insight and experience, discuss how they landed the positions they have today, and some of their favorite (and least favorite) parts of the job.

This event will take place in the 2nd Floor Conference room of the Rookwood Exchange Building. When you arrive, please take the stairs/elevator to the 2nd floor and you will see signage directing you to the event space.
Parking:
Please park across the street at the Rookwood Commons Shopping Center. There is a public garage and open lots available within a short walk of the Rookwood Exchange building.
We ask that attendees not park within the Rookwood Exchange attached garage as those spots are reserved for individuals who work within the building.
