Opening Night: VR/AR and the Myth of the T-Shaped Designer with Paul Mealy

Hello and welcome to Cincinnati Design Week 2019! We are kicking off an incredible week of amazing events with Paul Mealy, Solution Director at Fusion Alliance and Author of Virtual & Augmented Reality for Dummies. Join us for a fun and informative opening night talk with appetizers, drinks and the opportunity to hear how future technology may impact design and the role of designers.

In the past, designers focused and honed their craft within a single specialty. User experience and visual designers worked in bubbles, and never crossed paths. Now, not only are designers becoming generalists across user experience and user interface design, but are often required to step far outside of their comfort zones, into environmental design, product design, 3D, virtual reality, augmented reality, and more. Join us as Paul discusses how to design for emerging technology and the myth of the "T-shaped" designer.
