UX Toolbox: How to Get the Job Done

OVERVIEW

When a carpenter is building a house, they don’t use the same tool throughout the entire process. Sometimes they need a hammer, and sometimes they need a wrench. When UX designers are building digital products, they encounter a similar challenge. Sometimes a persona is the right tool and other times they need a clickable prototype.

Tools (such as wireframes, competitor audits, and user journey maps) are what a UX/UI designer uses to solve customer problems. John Fontaine will tell us about all the tools in the UX Toolbox and why each one is important. Join us as we get an introduction to common tools, practical advice on when to use each, and common pitfalls to avoid.

We will be discussing three categories: tools for generating ideas, tools for conducting user tests, and tools for sharing results with stakeholders. Once you develop a solid understanding of these categories, you will be able to add your favorites to your very own UX Toolbox.
